Best Hidden Gem Resorts Near Marrakech
1. Olinto Atlas Mountain Retreat

Step inside and it hits immediately: rosemary in the air, fountains murmuring, and that calm you only get far from the city. The man behind it is Prince Fabrizio Ruspoli di Poggio Suasa (of Marrakech hotel fame with La Maison Arabe), who chose the quiet Ouirgane region to build a private little Eden.
Set inside a vast olive grove, Olinto is an oasis where everything is designed to feel serene: landscaped gardens, ponds, pergolas, and nine ocher pavilions—each a suite with its own generous private garden.
Three suites go further, with small heated pools and big rooftop terraces that open onto wide mountain views.
Inside, it’s all about quiet luxury and precision: underfloor heating and cooling, leather-lined closets, painted woodwork, and rich fabrics—nothing loud, nothing random.
The same harmony carries into the bar and dining areas, finished in ocher brick and lit by vibrant stained-glass windows—intimate, but still impressive.
Which room to book? One of the three east-facing pavilions if you want morning sun—ideally one with a private pool.
At what price? From €700 per night in a junior suite, to €1,000 per night in a large suite with a swimming pool, breakfast, and minibar included (including beer and wine). No children, teenagers accepted from 16 years old.
2. Atlas Berber Lodge

In an olive grove near Oumnas, about 45 minutes from Marrakech, this is an ecolodge with “rustic” done properly. It was designed by interior designer Romain Michel-Ménière (long based in Morocco) with friends from KO Studio (Yves Saint Laurent Museum Marrakech, Grand La Poste café).
Built like a small douar (village), ten lodges with terraces or private gardens sit around the grounds. Everything is constructed the traditional way—mud brick walls, tiled ceilings, and bejmat terracotta floors—like a polished, modern take on Berber architecture.
The décor mixes styles without looking messy: rattan country pieces, Moroccan antiques, and crisp 50s/60s design. Comfort is more “urban” than you’d expect: air conditioning, central heating, and fireplaces in the larger bedrooms (40–50 m²), plus a beautiful 20 m x 7 m pool (unheated).
Which room to book? The superior room upstairs for Atlas views, or a superior lodge with a terrace.
At what price? From €220 for a superior double room, €240 for an upstairs suite with a view, with breakfast. Menu: €30.
3. Maroc Lodge

Maroc Lodge comes with real backstory. Before it became one of the most inspiring stays around Marrakech, it was the family home of Doctor Dubois-Roquebert, physician to Kings Mohammed V and Hassan II. His children later turned this lush 3-hectare estate of century-old trees into a quiet, time-slowing retreat.
There are seven pavilions, all warm and characterful, filled with antiques, old finds, and orientalist paintings. Interiors are spacious—roughly 55 m² to 140 m²—so it never feels cramped.
Big windows open onto the garden, so the greenery becomes part of the room.
In summer, meals move outdoors, and the kitchen leans on fresh ingredients and homemade olive oil—a signature touch for this hidden gem.
Service is personal, with a proper welcome from the owner, a genuine Morocco connoisseur.
The infinity pool is the main event—perfect for cooling down while staring straight into mountain views.
And it’s only about a 40-minute drive from Marrakech airport.
Which room to book? The “Junior Suite Panoramic” for valley views and (in winter) snow-dusted Atlas peaks.
At what price? From €155 for the Panoramic Junior Suite for two (55 m2) with breakfast, to €370 for the Executive Suite for 4 (140 m2).
4. Kasbah Beldi

Set on the land of an old farmhouse above Lake Lalla Takerkoust, this is a sister property from the team behind Beldi Country Club in Marrakech. True to their garden obsession, they’ve created a poetic 15-hectare estate—especially beautiful in winter when the lake fills and the Atlas shows up with snowy peaks.
Expect full slow-life mode: lunch under a centuries-old pistachio tree, a game of pétanque, then hours on sunlit terraces beside two long pools (30 m; one is heated).
Which room to book? A lodge for full Atlas views. With family or friends, go for a small house with 2 or 3 bedrooms.
At what price? From €145 per night in a suite, €160 in a lodge, breakfast included.
5. Douar Samra

This is the highest retreat on the list, perched at 2,000 meters near Toubkal (4,167 m), North Africa’s tallest peak—about 1h30 from Marrakech. Douar Samra is for travelers who want to disconnect and lean into a real Berber mountain stay.
This eco-lodge sits inside a village and is only accessible on foot or by donkey. Yes—there’s a house donkey, and yes, it handles the luggage.
Days are for terraces and sunshine. Nights are candlelit: the main house is fully off-grid, with no electricity in its four bedrooms. If you want more comfort, book one of the two mini-suites or the garden cabin, which do include electricity.
Which room to book? Choose based on how you feel about going without electricity. Comfort is higher in the mini-suites and the cabin.
At what price? From €90 per room for two with half board.
6. Sel D’Ailleurs

The name comes from the nearby saltworks of Marigha, a local “salt village.” The place is hard to label, but it feels deeply rooted in Berber land.
Set in two hectares of gardens with peak views that can feel surprisingly Provence-like, the low buildings blend into the landscape instead of fighting it.
The mood carries into the kitchen: fresh ingredients, cooked daily, with a simple, satisfying approach.
There are eight spacious rooms (around 30 m2), each with rustic comfort, plus air conditioning and a fan.
The main pool is unheated in winter, but there’s also a second heated pool.
Which room to book? A room with the very large double bed.
At what price? Count €115 per double room with half board. Lunch between 34 and 40 € depending on the composition (to be reserved at least 2 hours in advance).
7. Tagadert Lodge

Three patios, multiple gardens, and outdoor lounges—two with fireplaces—make this guest house easy to enjoy in every season. There’s always a good spot to sit in the sun.
Just 24 km from Marrakech near Oumnas, it’s an easy countryside escape for couples or families who want peace without going far.
Traditional architecture (adobe walls, carved wooden pillars, reed-woven ceilings) is paired with modern basics. The five rooms and suites include one quadruple and one triple, all with air conditioning and heating.
There’s a small pool (5 m x 3 m) that can be heated for an extra fee (€20/day). In winter, the fireplaces, lounges, and board games do the job.
Which room to book? The triple junior suite with a private garden, or the family junior suite (two queen-size beds). It’s also the only one with a TV, if you truly need it.
At what price? From €80 per double room with breakfast.
