If you are wondering what to do in Ras Al Khaimah… You are spoilt for choice!

• For thrills: Jebel Jais, the highest peak in the country

Jebel Jais Mountain Ras Al Khaimah

Jebel Jais Mountain (1,934 m) is probably the main attraction of the Emirate. Located on the border with Oman (Musandam), you can reach its highest point by car (or by bike for seasoned cyclists!) to enjoy the view, go hiking, or try out the different attractions.

The Jais Flight:

Jais Flight

The world’s longest zip line (just over 2.8 km) is one of the Emirate’s top attractions. The “zipline” reaches speeds of 120 km/h and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains!
If you want to try the adventure, you must be at least 1.30 m tall and weigh between 40 and 120 kilos. The attraction is also open to minors who meet these criteria, provided they are accompanied by a parent/legal guardian. You can buy tickets here .

The Jais Sky Tour:

A 2-hour adventure on six ziplines, which offer breathtaking views of the Hajar Mountains. The ziplines, measuring from 337 meters to over a kilometer, allow you to fly over 5 km of magnificent landscapes at an average speed of 60 km/h. The course connects seven platforms, the highest of which, the sky bridge, is 1,250 meters above sea level and 300 meters from the ground, offering an awe-inspiring experience. Jais Sledder:

Unlike climbing, the Via Ferrata does not require any technical skills but you must leave well prepared. Book here.

Hiking:

This is the only remaining hilltop fort in the UAE. It dates back to the Late Bronze Age (1600–1300 BC) when locals used it as a settlement and fortification. The twin-peaked, golden mud-brick fortress was built in the 19th century and restored in the late 1990s. It is an important historical landmark and was the site of the 1819 battle between British troops and the local Qawasim tribes.
Al Jazeera Al Hamra is the last surviving pearl fishing village of its kind in the Arabian Gulf, and to this day it remains largely intact, giving the impression of stepping back in time. There is a mixture of housing styles, ranging from small simple houses, courtyard houses, two-storey buildings to a large courtyard residence that belonged to a wealthy pearl merchant. The village had about 500 houses and was occupied by the Al Zaabi tribe. ( Location here )
The Emirate also offers water sports activities at all the beach hotels, or desert excursions with activities such as desert safari, quad biking in the dunes, wadi walking, etc. The Ras Al Khaimah Golf Club in Al Hamra is also a good option.

 Hotel In Ras Al Khaimah

This is probably the “flagship” attraction of Ras al Khaimah! We go there to enjoy the beautiful hotels on the beach, far from the hustle and bustle of Dubai. Many activities are also available on-site: jet ski rental, kayaking, parasailing… Don’t hesitate to ask the hotel what can be organized. Most hotels are “kids friendly” and offer many activities.
Remember to take into account the possible distances to travel if you want to visit Jebel Jais (about 1h-1h30 drive) or the Pearl farm (between 30 to 40 min).
