Whether you’re on a stopover, a business trip, or enjoying a vacation, we’ve selected a list of the 10 best boutique hotels in Doha to guarantee you a perfect stay in the Qatari capital, no matter your style or preferences.
Table of Contents
01. Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels -Tivoli
Why book? This is the ideal hotel, especially for all very short stays in the Qatari capital. This unique collection of eight boutique hotels, located in the heart of Souq Waqif and all connected (in concrete terms, each guest can use the facilities of the eight other “twin” hotels at leisure) allows you to enjoy a charming address in an ideal location, without compromising on comfort. Many of the rooms at the Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels by Tivoli are indeed worthy of the best 5-star hotels in the city!
The 26 keys of the Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels thus give access to as many Junior Suites and Suites as spacious (at least 55 m2 ) as luxuriously furnished, but also to a spa. For an even more unforgettable stay, opt for one of the immense Amiri Suites (170 m2 ), the height of oriental opulence that characterizes the place.
Additional advice: The rooms and suites at the Al Bidda Hotel offer almost equivalent comfort if the very chic Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels is fully booked.
The style: Oriental boutique hotel.
Number of rooms: 26 Junior Suites and Suites.
Location: In the heart of Souq Waqif, less than 20 minutes from the international airport.
How much? From €90 per night.
Address: Souq Waqif, Souq Asiri, 23095 Doha
02. The St. Regis Doha
Why book? This is my other favorite in Doha, also tested and approved by me during my recent stay in the Qatari capital. This modern palace, in neo-classical style with Arab touches, will seduce the most demanding travelers with its debauchery of luxury (the lobby sets the tone!), its ultra-comfortable rooms and suites, its extremely personalized service (the butler can, for example, take care of unpacking your suitcase upon your arrival) and its profusion of amenities.
Because with eight restaurants (including two tables signed by Gordon Ramsay or Hakkasan ), a spa acclaimed by critics, a rooftop adored by locals, a private beach or an XXL swimming pool (the only Olympic-sized pool in Doha), you will certainly have a hard time leaving the grounds of The St. Regis Doha.
The style: Dream Hotel
Number of rooms: 336 rooms and suites
Location: West Bay (30 minutes from the airport, 5 minutes from Katara Cultural Village)
How much? From €212 per night.
Address: Doha West Bay, 14435 Doha
03. Four Seasons Hotel Doha
Why book? At the end of the Corniche, the Four Seasons Hotel Doha lives up to the Canadian brand’s reputation. Facing the sea, the 5-star hotel offers all the luxury you would expect from a Four Seasons establishment. Private beach, 5 swimming pools (!), ten restaurants and lounges (including the Qatari branch of Nobu), a spa, and tennis courts, it’s hard to imagine anything more complete.
The style: Very luxurious
The number of rooms: 232 rooms, including 57 suites.
How much? From €312 per night.
Location: At the end of the Corniche, towards West Bay.
Address: The Corniche, PO Box 24665 Doha
04. Mandarin Oriental, Doha
Why book? Unlike the St. Regis or the Four Seasons, the Mandarin Oriental, Doha has chosen a more intimate and urban format, in the heart of Msheireb Downtown, the future most exclusive district of the Qatari capital. No private beach, no seaside pool, but rooms with ultra-chic contemporary decor, a 3,000 square meter spa among the largest in the city, and no fewer than nine gastronomic addresses, from the signature restaurant IZU to the signature pastry shop, The Mandarin Cake Shop.
The style: Ultra chic
The number of rooms: 128 rooms, 30 suites, and 91 apartments with hotel service.
How much? From €259 per night.
Location: Msheireb Downtown
Address: Msheireb Downtown Doha, PO Box 23643, Doha
05. W Doha Hotel & Residences
Why book? 200 meters from the Corniche, the W Doha has established itself since its opening in 2009 as one of the most prominent addresses of the American brand. Contemporary design and “trendy” atmosphere (or at least, trying to be) are the markers of this immense hotel (445 rooms and suites) acclaimed by the public (regularly ranked n°1 on TripAdvisor ). Note: we find within the hotel grounds some of the best restaurants in the city, including the two restaurants of multi-starred chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten (Market and Spice Market).
The style: Contemporary
Number of rooms: 445 rooms and suites
Location: Diplomatic Quarter
How much? From €157 per night.
Address: West Bay, Zone 61, Street 831, Building 262, Doha
06. Mondrian Doha
Why book? It is on the West Bay Lagoon side, a stone’s throw from The Pearl, that the Mondrian Doha opened a few months ago, the first Middle Eastern foray of the West Hollywood and South Beach brand. This contemporary fantasy, with an extravagant design by Marcel Wanders, is the spearhead of luxury and lifestyle hotels, tailor-made for millennials. The ESPA Spa, a 2,000 square meter reception room with a 24-carat gold elevator (!), or the CUT steakhouse by Wolfgang Puck are among the many features of this prestigious hotel.
The style: Contemporary fantasy
Number of rooms: 270 rooms and suites
Location: West Bay Lagoon
How much? From €175 per night.
Address: West Bay Lagoon, Doha
07. The Torch Doha
Why book? A member of the Leading Hotels of the World, The Torch is more than just a luxury hotel. It’s a symbol of the city. Considered the centerpiece of the Aspire Zone complex, also known as Doha Sports City, the tower that served as a giant torch during the 2006 Asian Games has been converted into a contemporary luxury hotel offering unrivaled 360° views of all of Doha. From rooms and suites packed with technology (an iPad lets you control everything from lights to curtains to room service ), to a swimming pool suspended above the void and a panoramic and rotating restaurant on the 47th floor (the Three Sixty), The Torch has many assets to highlight.
The style: Architectural prowess
Number of rooms: 163 rooms and suites
Location: In the huge Aspire Zone sports complex, where the largest stadium currently in existence in Qatar is located (around 50,000 seats).
How much? From €150 per night.
Address: Al Waab Street, Aspire Zone, PO Box 23833 Doha
08. Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara
Why book? Located on the artificial island of Banana Island, 25 minutes from Doha by taking the hotel’s luxurious catamaran, the Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara has the air of a heavenly resort with its 800-metre-long private beach, its Anantara spa or its “lagoon” swimming pool. Cinema room, bowling alley, nine-hole golf course, not to mention villas with private or overwater swimming pools – and even a helipad for those in a hurry – nothing seems too good here to amaze guests , both local and international.
The style: Exclusive resort
The number of rooms: 141 rooms, suites and villas.
Location: On the artificial island of Banana Island. Allow 25 minutes by boat to reach Doha (or a few minutes by helicopter!)
How much? From €339 per night.
Address: PO Box 23919, Doha
09. Sharq Village & Spa, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel
Why book? The Sharq Village & Spa , part of the luxury Ritz-Carlton brand, is the ideal address for those who would like to enjoy the tranquility of a resort away from the city, without straying too far from the center of Doha (the Souq Waqif or the Museum of Islamic Art are only a few minutes away by car).
Here, they will be able to find a vast resort , inspired by traditional Arabic architecture and at the forefront of luxury and comfort. Long private beach, XXL infinity pool, gigantic Six Senses spa (6,500 square meters), lush vegetation or gourmet restaurants, everything has been imagined so that everyone feels on vacation here.
The style: Arab resort
Number of rooms: 174 keys (including 24 suites and 1 villa)
Location: Between the airport and the city centre, making it a great destination for a 24-hours stopover in Doha.
How much? From €275 per night.
Address: Ras Abu Abboud Street, PO Box 26662, Doha
10. Regency Sealine Camp
Why book? Have you always dreamed of spending a night in the desert? Then the Regency Sealine Camp is certainly the place for you. About 1 hour 20 minutes south of Doha, this high-end “camp” offers a night of stargazing, nestled between the spectacular dunes of the Qatari desert and the warm waters of the Persian Gulf.
Every evening a traditional barbecue is organized for all the camp guests, before everyone goes to their comfortable tent. One last tip: don’t forget to set your alarm for dawn so you don’t miss the magnificent sunrise over the sea.
The style: Luxury Camp
The number of rooms: 15 tents with private bathrooms and comfortable rooms.
Location: In the Qatari desert and by the sea, a 1h20 drive south of Doha, and only 25 kilometers from Khor Al Adaid, Qatar’s “inland sea”.
