Eminönü is our first pick. It’s famous for the Grand Bazaar, one of Turkey’s biggest markets, known for its lively and bustling atmosphere.
It’s the perfect spot in Istanbul for shoppers, offering clothes, carpets, food, jewelry, and much more, with over 4000 shops.
You’ll also find the Spice Bazaar here, offering a wide selection of spices and herbs at good prices.
Nearby, there are important religious sites like the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. While not exactly in Eminönü, they’re close enough to walk to, making Eminönü a convenient place to stay.

Finally, Beyazit is home to Istanbul University. Although visitors don’t usually place much value in visiting the school, the stunning entrance is a sight to see. Two large monuments are really old and magnificent to look at.
